The Importance of Gathering

The fact that we go to church on a regular basis permits us to worship God and to obtain knowledge about his Word. But this good
habit also permits us to obey and please God in several other ways:

1. We follow the Lord and are faithful to our assembly: “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing.” -Hebrews. 10:25
2. We do what we know to be good: “Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins.” – James. 4:17
3. We obey the Lord’s commandments in several ways a. We sing among our brothers and sisters (Colossians. 3:16)
   b. We participate in the Lord’s Supper (1 Corinthians. 11:23-26)
   c. We give an offering to God according to our income (1 Corinthians. 16:2)
   d. We exhort our brothers and sisters in preparation for the Great Day (Hebrews 10:25)
4. We give a good witness to the world, and we permit the church to grow and establish itself in this city: “In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16

A lot of teachings are obeyed simply by coming to church. However, those who decide to not come to church without good reason make a serious decision that will reap its consequences sooner or later!
