Welcome Choctaw Brethren

The Choctaw congregation was established in 1939 and is located in the south eastern portion of Oklahoma City in the state of Oklahoma, USA. It has over three hundred members overseen by 5 elders and served by 11 deacons and a pulpit minister. I served as their minister from 1993 to 2000 before moving to California.

In 2003 the elders agreed to support Lise and I as we returned to work here in Montreal and have faithfully sponsored our ministry for the last six years. In 2007 a group of brothers and sister came to Montreal to visit the church and distribute over 10,000 flyers in order to help launch the church’s move from Verdun to Ville-Emard.

This year, 27 members led by Bob Chilton (one of the elders) and Marty Kessler (pulpit minister) have come. Twenty-one will arrive by bus and six have flown in to be with us. They have come to help us learn to sing new songs and work with our song leaders. In addition to this they will present a selection of songs from our songbook sung in four-part harmony this morning after worship.

We are so blessed to have these brothers and sisters in the Lord among us today. Make sure you greet them and express our gratitude for their faithful support of our work here in Montreal and the wonderful teaching and fellowship they have provided this weekend.

“How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony.” Ps. 133:1
