The Pros and Cons of Having a Mid-week Bible Study

Based on the poor attendance for our mid-week Bible study, Roger and I are considering cancelling it altogether. Here are some basic reasons for either keeping it or cancelling it.

Pros Cons
1. Good opportunity to study the Bible. 1. Inconvenient
2. Builds Christian fellowship and friendship. 2. Takes up too much time.
3. Provides a time to offer God worship and praise. 3. Creates conflict with my spouse.
4. A good witness towards non-believers. 4. Costs too much for travel.
5. Opportunity to invite someone to a Bible study. 5. Takes away from my relaxation time.
6. Provides an opportunity for members to pray for each other. 6. Have to rush supper.
7. Strengthens faith and ability to resist sin. 7. Don’t like being out at night.
8. Provides spiritual “break” between Sundays. 8. Interferes with our leisure activities.
9. Pleases the Lord. 9. Get to bed too late.
10. Source of encouragement for those who attend. 10. Hardly anybody goes anyways...

Given the pros and cons, how would you vote? Please use the voting slip included in today’s bulletin and drop it in the voting box on the reception counter near the front door. We’ll announce the results next week.
