There are various ways of keeping time. Here are three.
The first is called “World Time.” For many years this has been the way that the world set its clocks. The time on earth was determined by the relationship between the earth and the sun, and man was able to measure time based on the movement of the stars.
A second method to keep time arrived in 1972 when “Atomic Time” was developed. This method measured hours, minutes, and seconds not only using the movement in the heavens but with the precise vibrations within the atom.
There is yet a third method to keep time. It is based on our relationship with God and His perfect method of keeping time. Once we recognize that we must give an account of ourselves with God, we see that it is time to surround ourselves with the values, thoughts, and attitudes similar to our Lord, Jesus Christ (Rom. 13:14).
We realize that our eternal (time without end) salvation is closer to us than ever. Because of our relationship with Jesus we need to take seriously the warning that tells us that there is not much time left before this world will end. If we plan to live in honesty and love the time to do it is now!
When you look at the clock today, remember to measure time based on your relationship with the Lord.
So, what time is it?
“The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.” Romans 13:11B
