Wanted: Doers

“But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves” James 1:22

My goal for this congregation as far as ministry is concerned is that each member is a doer, not just a listener. And in this respect, we are doing better than most churches. The “norm” for member involvement is between 10 and 15% of the total number of members who are directly responsible for various ministries and services.

At Ville-Émard, that number jumps to 40% which is far above the average. For our personal and congregational growth to continue, however, we need to provide opportunities for even more members to experience the satisfaction and joy that come from actually serving the church in a concrete way.

The work of the church is divided into 5 areas of ministry (Evangelism, Education, Fellowship, Worship, and Service – Acts 2:1-47). We need members who are willing to serve in one or more of these areas. In order to organize and train people to minister, Roger and I will be having a special Ministry Meeting every 1st Sunday of the month after potluck (check the bulletin to see schedule). If you would like to become more involved, train for service, share ideas, learn about our ministry system, become a “doer” instead of a “listener”, then sign-up for the next meeting (Evangelism/Education Ministry) which will be held next Sunday.
