When we say “no” to God’s invitation to follow His instructions, to listen to the advice He gives us in His Word, to contribute and participate to His Church, this may mean a lot more than we think. Consider seriously what we say and think, and what this “no” might mean:
“...Even if God is the one who created me, I know how to lead my life better than He does.”
“... I don’t think I have done anything that needs correction nor committed any sin that needs forgiveness.”
“...I have too many needs and too much to do to participate in the functioning of the Church and its outreach efforts to save souls. When I am there, I contribute or participate as well as I can but please don’t count on me.”
“...It is good to worship on Sunday and I attend when I can but there are other things to tend to on that day. I work hard all week, God doesn’t need me if I have other things to do.”
« And as for you, brothers, never tire of doing what is right. »
(II Thessalonians 3:13)
