We often see maps in shopping centers that indicate the location of the various stores and services. These maps have a red dot and arrow with the words, “You are here”. Once you find the spot where you are at in the shopping center, you can easily find out where you need to go. We see in this the following principle of life: We need to know where we are in order to determine where we want to go.

WE ARE HERE ►•
Our map (the Bible) indicates that without Christ we are, “...without hope and without God in the world,” that, “...all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory.” In this condition we are separated from God and if we remain this way we will remain eternally so, “...for the wage of sin is death.”

WE NEED TO GO HERE ►•
Our map informs us that we need to be in Christ where all the blessings are. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed us with all the spiritual blessings in the heavenly places in Christ.”

HOW TO GET THERE ►•
Our map provides the directions: “All who have been baptized in Christ have put on Christ.” We learn that baptism in the name of Jesus comes after faith, repentance, and confession of the name of Christ. Once we are in Christ we should continue following Him faithfully.

Look at your life map; find the place that shows “You are here.”
