Assembling Together

Going to church regularly permits us to worship God and increase our Bible knowledge. This good habit also helps us to obey and please God in several ways:

  1. We follow the Lord and become faithful in assembling together and avoid the bad habit of neglecting church attendance as some do.    “....not forsaking our own assembling together as is the habit of some.” Hebrews 10:25
  2. We do what we know is right. “...therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is a sin.” James 4:17
  3. We obey several other commands of Christ: we sing with our brothers and sisters (Col. 3:16), we take the communion (I Cor. 11:23-26), we offer God a gift according to our means (I Cor. 16:2), we encourage our brothers and sisters as the day of the Lord approaches (Heb. 10:25).
  4. We give a good witness to others which helps the church be established in this area. “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

Many teachings are obeyed simply by coming to church. Those who choose not to come without a good reason make a serious decision that will have consequences sooner or later!
