Most people usually complain that they rarely have enough time to do the things that they would really like to do. For example, some say they would like to go back to school but have no time. Others don’t exercise because they claim to lack the time. And everyone says that they would like to spend more time with their families.
The worst “time” excuse that I have heard, however, is that one has no time to come to worship on Sunday. I believe that Christians are not aware how much time they spend on various activities in comparison to time devoted to God.
In order to see this comparison more clearly, note the chart listing an average Christian’s life (70 years) and how his time is used.
Sleeping – 24 yrs
Working – 14 yrs
Leisure – 8 yrs
Eating – 6 yrs
Traveling – 5 yrs
Conversation 5 yrs
Education – 3 yrs
Reading – 3 yrs
TV watching – 3 yrs
If he attended church services every Sunday and prayed 5 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes every evening, he would have given God 5 MONTHS in his 70 year lifetime.
“...not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more, as you see the day drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:25)
